Tonight, I am so good. I actually directly helped a poor nation's economy - and it felt good. Or rather it taste good. ;) *coughindomeecough* heh. That should satisfy my hunger for a while. A rather cheap meal for poor student who is on a tight student allowance budget .......
Poor student who spends like a millionaire? haha. Yup. You got it. nyahahaha =p The past few days see this girl frivolously spending like there's no tomorrow. Shopping with a deadly passion especially with the killer price-drop around this time of the year. And so, this blog post is especially dedicated to review some of the items that she had splurge on recently.. ;)
Currently reading Toni Maguire's "Dont Tell Mummy" - a true story of the ultimate betrayal. I came across this book while browsing at the choices of biographies at Whitcoulls Store yesterday with Sharon. (If you dont know yet, yes, I love reading true stories, even more than fiction). The cover of that book - the pain in the child's eyes and her intense expression moved me and at only $19.90 - its a steal!!. And last night, I could hardly put the book down. Halfway reading through the book now. The story is so moving, tragically moving... based on the real childhood story of the writer herself. I will say, this book is worth even more than its retail value.
It reminds me of Dave Pulitzer's novel.. Sigh. He is one excellent writer. Recommended to me by a friend.. I've read and owned all 3 of his biographies - my precious collection.
I came across Wild Swan too yesterday! Priced at only 19.90. Siukkkkkk!!!! ^.^ Snatched it up before someone else did. woots woots!! Have been eyeing this novel for soooo long. It was priced nearly 40 bucks when it first came out (even in Brunei!!). The novel has been translated to a number of languages - it is THAT good!! Its a Chinese family memoir that revolves around 3 generations of women. I am expecting it to be as good as Adeline Yen Mah's Chinese Cinderella.
I know, I will have fun time reading this. I am saving this novel for summer - what with school starting in less than 48 hours, I really wont have for this. huhuh. Anyway, one of my wishlist is Adeline Yen Mah's Falling Leaves. ;) Pray that the price will come down soon too!!
And I am still contemplating on whether to buy some Jodi Picoult's novels ... yeah, they are not biographies, but she is definitely one of the best fiction writer that I have known and admire and truly enjoy ... about as par as or even more so, of my love towards Marian Keyes. <3
I am such a bookworm, I know. =p heehee ;) And I am waiting for my Harry Porter's book to arrive soon too!! yeaaaaa~~ I die happy.
Oh yeah, today I picked up a new game. So cheap, not even 40 bucks for a brand new lite game - Touch Detective. Rated only as a 'fair game' based on Gamespot reviews. Havent had a chance to play it though. I just hope the game is not that disappointing..
Was actually contemplating between this and Phoenix Wright. But with the latter priced at 70 bucks @.@ ... pah!
And on a cheerful note, I am waiting for Latest Harvest Moon (boys & girls) to come out on PSP too! (or the improved version of DS Harvest Moon). Cant decide between both. But both should be released around end of july / august. The first HM installment for DS sort of failed in a big way with millions of crashes and PSP's first HM didnt recieve terrific reviews too. So, I am holding out on the improved (hopefully) latest version(s) ... =)
And I am still hunting for The Urbz (DS). I couldnt see any copies at EBGames today even though its website say otherwise. Or Brooktown High (PSP) which I believe is a very rare find here. I could not even get my hands on the copy on TradeMe. >.<
And oh yea.. I want to play classic Sonic game. I am majorly disappointed with PSP's Sonic Rivals - which is just another racing game instead of the classic platform that I truly love. Apparently, DS's version (Sonic Rush) is also similar to the PSP ones. :S So annoying!! My only solution is to buy PSP Capcom collection of ol skool games (which included Sonic the Hedgehog) or else, buy GBA version of Sonic Advance 3 and pray that it is DS compatible. The latter is cheaper and I could play either in my DS or GBA SP consoles; but the former has other old school games too (and I am a SEGA fan!!!) sigh. Dilemma dilemma.
Oh that's enough update for now. Of course there are other boring stuffs that I bought too, that didnt even worth mentioning here. hahaha. =p meh. whatever~
