This week has been great. We have an entire week pricking, prodding and poking uncomplaining, silent models and dolls. Now, if only real patients are like that! haha. Had a go at nasogastric tube insertion and urinary catherisation; m looking forward to actually doing it on real patients. The week has been invaluable in grasping new skills, regardless that Ive actually skipped a few sessions and ran to my ward / theatre. ;) Heh. Cant missed out scrubbing in (or at the very least, watching) exciting surgeries. Hrm. I only have 3 more weeks in this run. Sigh. I think m gonna miss my theatre times a lot!

The week has been pretty cruisy, we had super looooong coffee breaks. Saw classmates from different groups, whom I normally dont see in the hospital because they are attached to different hospitals / clinics. Exchanged invaluable news *cough*gossips*cough* over medici's chocolate cakes and muffins while sipping our hot coffee. Damn nice lah. The other day, someone brought a deck of uno cards. That was fun. It sorta reminds me of highschool.

Today is the last day of the integrative day. Ann, May and I took a walk to the park behind the hospital after our last session ended. It was a nice bright day, not neccessarily warm though. We discovered rose garden.. so pretty!! Ann and I were delighted, smelling each rose dancing in front of our eyes, debating which has the most perfect scent much to May's amusement. Heh. Saw a lot of trees with big and sturdy trunks. Oh I so love trees... maybe even more than I love flowers. Especially big trees. They look strong.

Anyway, we went back to the hospital's cafe after our little walk. Met the others.. for our own cakes session. =) Sweet! We were celebrating the end of our first quarter as 4th years. Got ourselves a nice long table and indulged ourselves in all the sweet goodies that some of us baked. Heavenly! We were the happiest (and the loudest! =p) among the crowds. Heh. ;)
After so long, our crowds started to disperse. I started to make my way to the theatre, was planning to observe a surgery or two before I took a boot when a friend called. Apparently, some of them were going to the mall. Didnt take me too long to decide to tag along. Heh. Its alright, Ive seen similar surgeries anyway. So off we went, giggly and sugar-high and all.

you know, I think I have awesome times. =) I really do. Tomorrow is officially the start of my one week holiday. Had plans with my flatmates.. ;) So m reserving my energy and be a good girl who dont go out tonight even though my friends invited me out for some quiz night. I hope my friends' team won! I know, I should just go and be their cheerleader, but m afraid if I turned up I would be sucked into a different (competing) team. Besides, it wasnt my scene. Not with drunken med students. Seen them drink before, boy, can they drink! ugh. I think I have enough fun today. And tomorrow.. something's up too. ^.^
