As I strolled into the hospital premise this morning, my mind asked a number of questions. When I reached the 2nd level, I almost turned left and made my way to ward 17, like I normally did for the last couple of weeks. But today, I turned right. My homeward from now on (for another couple of weeks) is ward 16, as today m starting my 2nd run in a surgical/gastro team.

I arrived at 8 on the dot and only saw zombified James and cheery Ann. The rest of the team only turned up quarter past - that was quite a change from my previous team. And surprisingly enough, we didnt even have any patients in the ward (or any other wards) yet. Haha. I only hope that we'll have more patients coming in this afternoon at the preadmission clinic, because I have a case due soon. @.@

On other things .. this is pretty nice. Instead of having mad rush ward rounds, we gathered in medici sipping our coffee. And instead of intensely discussing about patients' prognosis and our own dreams and ambitions in the healthfield, we talk about normal things like movies and upcoming concerts and the art of cooking. Instead of biting our food punctuated with a stressed reg's incessant swearing, we have a happy reg who smiles, jokes and laughs. And instead of having to rush back to the ward to finish our little tasks or to the theatre to scrub in and be the surgeon's little elf; we took our own sweet time to bite our cakes.

The contrast ... just seemed a bit bizarre. HAHA. Being in Mr U and Mr R's team previously had just set a frantic pace for all 3 of us, med4 students. But I shouldnt be complaining ;), now we have time to catch our breaths ... and do real catch ups. I still have stacks of lectures that need to be read since I skipped most of the classes in the last couple of weeks.
And I think, I might even have time at nights to catch up with my games ;) ohboy~ its about time that my hibernated consoles wake up! nyeh. =p
